RANGE SAFETY RULES
- NO VANDALISM OR
INTENTIONAL DAMAGE to the range will be tolerated
- NO ALCOHOL OR
DRUGS are allowed on the range and no one is allowed on the range who is under the
influence of DRUGS OR ALCOHOL
- Members are responsible
for the conduct of their guests and family members
- IF YOU WITNESS A
VIOLATION OF ANY SAFETY RULE, LEAVE THE RANGE IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT CONFRONT THE OFFENDOR. IF POSSIBLE, WRITE DOWN THE OFFENDORS
LICENSE PLATE NUMBER, DESCRIPTION OF THE VEHICLE AND OF THE OFFENDOR, AND
THE DATE AND TIME. If possible
notify the Ephrata Police Department.
The Ephrata Police have keys to the range. VIOLATORS WILL BE PROSECUTED
- If an accident
occurs to you, or you witness an accident to another shooter, first give
aid to the victim(s) within your capabilities. Then, seek aid by the most expedient
means possible. Finally, write down
the events leading to the accident, including date, time, names, victim,
witness, and vehicle identification.
The Ephrata Police have keys to the range
- Handle all
firearms as if they were loaded at all times
- Do not allow the
muzzle to sweep over/past anyone at any time
- All weapons must
be unloaded at the gate when entering the range
- Do not load your
firearm until you are ready to fire, the muzzle
pointed safely down range, and the range is clear of people
- ANY PERSON, AT ANY
TIME, CAN CALL FOR A CEASE FIRE
- During a cease
fire, all actions must be open,
weapons benched, and all shooters must be clear of the firing line
- Fire can not
resume until all shooters agree that it is safe to fire
- Firearms will not
be handled while people are down range
- All firearms will
be benched, with the action open, when people are down range
- Shoot only at
paper targets, attached to the wooden 2 x 4 cross bars, and directly down
range
- Use of tracer or
armor piercing ammunition is prohibited
- Fully automatic
weapons are prohibited from use on this range
- All shooters must
shoot from the same firing line at all times
- Do not rely on
your weapons safety mechanism in lieu of unloading your weapon and leaving
the action open when required
- Do not shoot at
any target on the ground, at the berms, or at the wooden target frames
- Do not shoot at
tin cans, glass, or other objects that can shatter or otherwise leave
hazardous residue
- Take down your
used targets and clean up your shooting area including brass And place all trash in the trash barrels or the
dumpster. Pick up your hulls after
shooting trap or skeet
- Eye and hearing
protection must be worn at all times
- On the shotgun
ranges, shotgun actions will be
open at all times until the shooter is ready on a station and it is the
shooters turn to shoot
- Shotgun actions
must be unloaded and open when changing stations on the shot gun range
- Shotguns are not allowed
on the rifle or pistol ranges
- Shotguns shooting
slugs or buckshot are allowed on the 100 yard range and all of the rules
applying to rifles will apply to shotguns so used on the 100 yard range
- Shotguns may be
patterned from the West skeet tower, using the steel patterning board with
paper attached or spray painted
- THIS IS YOUR
RANGE. Your dollars paid for it and
maintain it. Please help to keep it
clean and in good repair. Volunteer
to do maintenance when you are able.
